May 2005: Welcome to the Spring edition of Chester Coffee Services’ newsletter. Easter saw the Chester Food & Drink Festival become a great success and a FairTrade presentation which our Sales Director participated in. Twinings’ Iced Teas have been re-launched just in time for our customers to capitalize on profits this summer.

FairTrade Presentation in Nantwich

Chester Coffee Services participated in a FairTrade presentation organised by the South Cheshire Friends of the Earth on April 12th.

The evening was part of a global week of action, and topics discussed included the advantages for cafe owners of supplying FairTrade, for their business and for third world growers.

Howard Dodds, Chester Coffee’s Sales Director, spoke about the supply chain and we provided FairTrade refreshments and information from our supplier, CafeDirect.

Chester Coffee helps the Hospice raise over £600

Chester Food & Drink Festival: 23rd March - 3rd April

This Easter saw the return of the Chester Food & Drink Festival for the fourth year, celebrating local produce. Chester Coffee was more than happy to get involved.

We provided Lavazza coffee and Twinings tea for the Chester Coffee Services Cafe, and with the help of volunteers from the Chester Hospice, we raised over £600 for the charity.

We also supplied coffee and the new Twinings & After Dinner Mint Tea at the black-tie Gala Dinner on Thursday, March 31st, which were received with enthusiasm. Chester Coffee, in association with Lavazza, sponsored the Best Cafe/Coffee Bar award, which was presented by Paul Burrell at the Gala Dinner.

Our customers who scooped awards were: Village Bistro (Best Small Restaurant of the Year); Pacino's (Best Large Restaurant); Bar Lounge (Best Bar/Pub); Cino Garcia-Hernandez from Upstairs at the Grill (Best Bartender).

Products for Spring 2005

Late last year we introduced Zuma’s frappes and real fruit smoothies, and now that summer is on the way, they look set to be hugely popular. Re-Launch of Twinings Iced Teas

Twinings have re-launched their iced teas in new packaging - the re-sealable container is designed to make it more convenient on the go. Flavours available are: Lemon; Cherry; Green Tea & Lemon; Raspberry; Peach; Green Tea & Peach.

New Customer: Cafe History at Tesco

Tesco launched one of the biggest supermarkets in the UK this March in Coventry. It includes Cafe History’s coffee bar, which stocks Italy’s favourite coffee, Lavazza, as well as other products courtesy of Chester Coffee.
