at the Chester Food & Drink Festival's black tie Gala Dinner last week. The Blue Moon Café won the prestigious award, which is voted for by customers, and several of Chester Coffee's customers scooped other awards. The Gala Dinner, marking the climax of the Festival on Thursday, March 31st, was held at the Taste Sensation Marquee in the Crown Courts car park, and began with a champagne reception. Guests were treated to a five-course gourmet meal prepared by the Head Chef of Lion Quays, Steve Roberts. The menu featured regional produce sourced on behalf of the Festival by North West Fine Foods. Of particular note, was the Twinings & After Dinner Mint tea provided by Chester Coffee which Stephen Wundke, Chairman of the Chester Food and Drink Festival, said proved very popular. He said: "The awards and gala dinner were the culmination of a very successful Festival week here in. Of particular note was the very well received Twinings & After Dinner Mint tea which rounded off a fantastic menu perfectly with something special, a taste sensation for the taste sensation marquee!" The evening was hosted by Lisa Marrey and Gavin Matthews from Chester and Wrexham's MFM 103.4, and Paul Heathcote and Trevor Green from Granada News also presented awards. Chester Coffee Services customers who scooped awards included Village Bistro in Hoole (Best Small Restaurant of the Year); Pacino's (Best Large Restaurant of the Year); Bar Lounge (Best Bar/Pub of the Year); Cino Garcia-Hernandez from Upstairs at the Grill (Bartender of the Year).
